At a minimum, Dr. Harre’s office starts with the CDC recommended infection control procedures, also known as “universal precautions”:
- Protective gloves, masks, surgical wear and eyewear are always worn.
- All touchable objects in the treatment rooms are covered to avoid cross-contamination; after each patient these covers are removed, objects cleaned and recovered for the next patient.
- Protective gloves are always worn and hands are always washed between patients.
- Treatment rooms are thoroughly disinfected after each patient.
- All instruments, including hand pieces, are sterilized with pressurized steam after each patient (called autoclaving). Our state of the art autoclaves are tested for their effectiveness every time instruments are sterilized.
These measures are quite expensive; however, there is no more important investment than the safety of the patients. We hope that your trust and confidence in the team’s sterilization measures will make your visits more comfortable.
